Varlion Bourne Summum
Varlion Bourne Summum is a drop-shaped racket that offers good control but has the most focus on power. The soft core gives a nice bounce that easily speeds up the ball. The hitting surface is in 100% carbon fiber for that little extra bang and durability. The carbon fiber then continues down to the heart to make the racket even more stable. The shape of the racket is called Bourne and is a front-heavy shape that has been developed by combining a diamond shape and a drop shape. On the surface, Varlion has then chosen to have a hexagon pattern to facilitate sliced blows and ensure that you get the desired effect. The result is a racket with many all-round properties that offers a lot of power and high precision.
For the astute, there is a W hidden in the name and in this case it means “Winter”. Varlion makes different rackets of the same model that are adapted to different climates and W is recommended for games for up to 25 degrees Celsius. This means that the impact surface in 100% carbon fiber and harder core will fit perfectly in our Swedish paddle halls. In addition to this, the Bourne Summum also has a longer handle than usual to facilitate and enable double-sided backhand strokes.
Probably the nicest racket we’ve seen! The soft core provides good power without feeling spongy in any way.
